We have some exciting news that we are happy to finally share with you!
We have experienced such growth over the last year, and we feel so incredibly grateful for all the support that we’ve received and, more importantly, been able to provide. Our intention has always been to provide accessible support to those who need it across Canada, so with that in mind, we are now expanding our reach to Ontario! We are so honoured to have a beautiful group of humans based in Ontario that will work hard to meet and maintain our mission, vision and core values, such as:
- Grief as a lifelong journey – We provide support that addresses the lifelong impacts of loss and at every stage of the parenting journey (initial grief, trying to conceive, pregnant again, and parenting after loss)
- Diversity and Inclusion – We hold an affirming space for people of all faiths, ethnicities, cultures, abilities, socio-economic status, sexual orientations and gender identities. We hold an affirming space for diverse types of loss including termination for medical reasons (TMFR), infertility, loss through surrogacy and missed adoption.
The Ontario team is a PILSC committee and will be reporting back to the PILSC board in Calgary as they develop their programming. Everything will still be accessed through our website (www.pilsc.org) and our Instagram (@pregnancylosssupportcanada). We will have remote Ontario offerings that can be accessed by anyone who feels that timezone better fits their schedule.
We’d like to thank Melissa Sulley, the PILSC Ontario Chair, for reaching out over a year and a half ago and furthering our dream. Community is who we are and we are honoured to have the Ontario team as a part of it!
