Pregnancy & Infant Loss

Support Centre

Volunteer With Us

The Pregnancy & Infant Loss Support Centre has a large community of volunteers and staff across Canada who help us deliver our support programs and events. Whether you have experienced loss yourself or hold the cause close to your heart, there is a place for you on our team. We could not do this important work without generous people such as yourself. Join us today as we continue to change the narrative around loss.

What We Provide Our Volunteers

At the Pregnancy & Infant Loss Support Centre, we value our volunteers. Our priority is to make sure our volunteers feel prepared, supported, and valued throughout your time with us. To help make your experience a positive one with us, we provide:

  • A dedicated team lead and volunteer team to check-in and debrief whenever needed.
  • Comprehensive training on peer support, grief & loss, inclusivity, accessibility, language and more.
  • A monthly check-in meeting with frequent guest speakers and connection with other volunteers.
  • Full and encouraged access to our services (including our coaches and counsellors).
  • Opportunities for continued learning.

Ready to Volunteer?

Ready to volunteer with the Pregnancy & Infant Loss Support Centre? Click the button below to submit your application. Once submitted, one of our team members will review your application and get back to you.

If your application is selected, you will be invited to complete an interview with one of our team members. This will provide you the opportunity to learn a bit more about the centre and our volunteer program, for us to learn a bit more about yourself, and to go over the next steps for onboarding and training together.

Volunteer Roles

Event Volunteer

Description:
We host a variety of events throughout the year that are made possible with the help of dedicated volunteers.

From our annual Legacy Run/Walk, Tiny Footprints Gala, and Wave of Light event, to smaller activities at the centre such as helping prepare hospital kits and comfort boxes. Events are offered throughout the year.

Time Commitment:
Flexible hours throughout the year (a few hours at a time)

The majority of our events are in the Calgary area. Event volunteers must be local.

Peer Facilitator

First-hand experience with pregnancy loss, infant loss, or infertility is a requirement for this role.

Peer Helpline
