The Pregnancy & Infant Loss Support Centre has a large community of volunteers and staff across Canada who help us deliver our support programs and events. Whether you have experienced loss yourself or hold the cause close to your heart, there is a place for you on our team. We could not do this important work without generous people such as yourself. Join us today as we continue to change the narrative around loss.

What We Provide

At the Pregnancy & Infant Loss Support Centre, we value our volunteers. Our priority is to make sure our volunteers feel prepared, supported, and valued throughout your time with us. To help make your experience a positive one with us, we provide:

  • A dedicated team lead and volunteer team to check-in and debrief whenever needed.
  • Comprehensive training on peer support, grief & loss, inclusivity, accessibility, language and more.
  • Full and encouraged access to our services (including our coaches and counsellors).
  • Opportunities for continued learning.
  • In-person activities and events to engage with the local community.

What to expect

We aim to make joining our volunteer community a thoughtful, supportive, and well-paced experience. Because many of our roles involve emotionally sensitive work, our process is designed to ensure both volunteers and the people we serve feel safe, prepared, and supported every step of the way.

  • Submit your volunteer application through our website.
  • Applications are reviewed by our team within 72 hours.
  • If you’ve selected any peer roles, you’ll be invited to a short interview.
  • Approved volunteers are guided through onboarding, including required documentation and screening and core training focused on grief, loss, and trauma-aware support.
  • Each role has it’s own role-specific training, offered periodically throughout the year.

Ready to Volunteer?

Ready to volunteer with the Pregnancy & Infant Loss Support Centre? Click the button above to submit your application. Once submitted, one of our team members will review your application and get back to you.

If your application is selected, you will be invited to complete an interview with one of our team members. This will provide you the opportunity to learn a bit more about the centre and our volunteer program, for us to learn a bit more about yourself, and to go over the next steps for onboarding and training together.

Notice: Holiday Closure

Our offices and warm line will be closed from December 22, 2025 to January 4, 2025.

As the holidays approach, take a pause for yourself.

Our day retreat offers a sacred space for connection, ritual-making, and personal reflection. Together, we’ll explore the importance of honoring our losses while navigating the season’s challenges.
